The School of Health Sciences (SHS) is one of the eight (8) Schools in Meru University of Science and Technology.
We are committed to providing quality education, training, research consultancy and community service in order to produce competent health professionals.

The School has the Department of Public Health with seven (7) programmes and the Department of Clinical Medicine & Community Health with three (3) programmes. Plans are underway to create the Department of Laboratory Sciences.
The School of Health Sciences was established in 2012 with one Department of Public Health and gave birth to the Department of Clinical Medicine and Community Health in February 2018.
Currently, the School of Health Sciences has ten (10) programmes and will soon launch the Department of Laboratory sciences.
The founding Chairman of the Department of Public health was Ms Carolilne Karani (2012-2014); followed by Mr Patrick Mutharia (2014-2016), and now Gervase Miriti (2016 to date).
The founding chairman of the Department of Clinical Medicine and Community Health is Mr Patrick Kinyua Kubai.(Feb 2018).
In addition, the founding Dean was Prof. Eric Muchiri (2012-2014; Dr Jane Ruttoh (2014-2015); Prof Eric Muchiri (2015-2016) and now Prof. Robert Kei (Feb 2017 to date)
In 2016, the School gave birth to the School of Nursing and Dr Naomi Mutea was the appointed founding Dean
